With plans to launch its first series-production hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) by 2028, BMW is set to offer an all-electric, zero-emission option powered by hydrogen, marking a significant step toward carbon neutrality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The collaboration focuses on the joint development of next-generation fuel cell technology, combining BMW\u2019s expertise in electric drives with Toyota\u2019s pioneering hydrogen technology. The goal is to provide customers with versatile FCEV options that maintain each brand\u2019s unique identity. The companies are also advocating for the expansion of hydrogen infrastructure to support the broader adoption of this sustainable energy source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BMW Chairman Oliver Zipse called the development \u201ca milestone in automotive history,\u201d while Toyota President Koji Sato emphasized the shared vision of \u201ctechnology openness\u201d and a multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality.
