While the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed concept car made its debut in late May, it has since \u2014 visually \u2014 gone back under wraps. However, Mercedes-AMG has recently unveiled more technical info about the vehicle as it enters its final stage of testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This limited-run, roofless and windshield-free two-seater is now undergoing rigorous testing on the diverse roads of northern Italy, before heading south to the high-speed test track in Nard\u00f2. The PureSpeed, which is set to be produced in an ultra-limited series of just 250 units, is a tribute to the golden era of racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With its unconventional design and performance-driven engineering, this roadster is poised to become a prized possession for select enthusiasts and collectors. Each unit of the PureSpeed is a part of Mercedes-Benz\u2018s new Mythos series, which focuses on blending historical racing aesthetics with cutting-edge technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the standout features of the PureSpeed is its HALO system, inspired by Formula 1 safety innovations. This curved bar, fixed directly to the vehicle\u2019s body, replaces the conventional A-pillar, providing aerodynamic and structural protection in the event of an accident. To complement this, the car comes with two bespoke, aerodynamically optimized helmets, offering additional safety and style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The testing program spans over 1,800 miles, covering both public roads and dedicated test circuits. The development team, in partnership with Pininfarina, is focusing on ensuring the vehicle\u2019s systems and components meet Mercedes-AMG\u2019s exacting quality standards. This phase includes extensive high-speed testing to fine-tune the car\u2019s dynamic handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of writing, details on price and allocation processes have not yet been shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
