In the latest installation of its short film, Doublemint, Aim\u00e9 Leon Dore has revealed another collaboration with Porsche, this time featuring the 1986 944, the brand\u2019s front-engined, rear-wheel drive coup\u00e9 that was in production from the early 80s to 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film starts with a recap of the first part, where Action Bronson slides a Porsche key and what\u2019s assumed to be an address written on a napkin, across a diner table. As the camera moves outside, the Guards Red Porsche 944 is revealed from under a car cover, its license plate changed and ultimately ends up being driven to a private air hanger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While details are scarce, we do know, thanks to a plain-clothed cop in one scene, that the model is an \u201886 Turbo with a \u201cdookie\u201d brown leather interior. With the vehicle being rebadged to feature \u201cLeon Dore\u201d badging and ALD bespoke decals, it\u2019s a mystery how the officer knew the model, however, it does indicate that the vehicle features a 5-speed, 2.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, boasting 217 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, if stock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the 944 represents a departure from the 911\u2019s rear-engine configuration and was designed to compete against other coup\u00e9s of the era, like the Mazda RX-7 FC and the Nissan 300ZX. Other details we noticed from the video included stand-out gold 5-hole wheels, which match the bespoke decals and embossed seats that feature custom ALD branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
