Hyundai has officially pulled the wraps off the INSTEROID concept at Peaches \u201cNight Garage Party\u201d in Seoul, revealing a fully fleshed-out, gaming-inspired rework of its popular INSTER EV. Designed by Hyundai\u2019s European team, INSTEROID blends track-ready performance cues \u2014 like bucket seats, a roll cage, Drift Mode and a distinctive wing spoiler \u2014 with a playful, arcade-meets-garage aesthetic that includes a Beat House sound system, Message Grid interface and Boost icons representing different driving personas. The interior features recycled 3D knit materials, while exterior highlights include a widened stance, aero elements and a bold orange accent. Presented alongside a digital time-attack game and an upcoming KartRider Rush+ tie-in, INSTEROID positions itself as more than a concept \u2014 it\u2019s a bold halo for the INSTER lineup and a statement on Hyundai\u2019s push to engage next-gen drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Original Story: Hyundai has unveiled teaser images of its new concept car, the INSTEROID \u2014 a futuristic, gaming-inspired take on the brand\u2019s popular INSTER electric vehicle. Slated for a full reveal in April 2025, the one-off design fantasy fuses pixel-perfect aesthetics with real-world performance cues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The name \u201cINSTEROID\u201d is a mash-up of \u201cINSTER\u201d and \u201csteroid,\u201d meant to signal a muscular, amped-up reimagining of the sub-compact EV that\u2019s been a sales hit in Europe and South Korea since its debut in June 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teaser visuals hint at aggressive, arcade-racer styling: flared wheel arches with air vents, oversized 21-inch wheels and a commanding rear spoiler and diffuser. Signature Pixel LED lights and video game-inspired controls further reinforce the car\u2019s playful personality. Hyundai says INSTEROID is a \u201cdream car designed to make you smile,\u201d crafted to heighten the emotional experience of driving an EV. Every detail \u2014 from the cockpit\u2019s instrument cluster to the brake design \u2014 is meant to embody a youthful, imaginative spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
