The G-Class was first launched as a civilian vehicle in 1979 and its development was a cross-country collaboration between engineers in Mercedes-Benz\u2019s base in Stuttgart, Germany, and hand-crafted production plant in Graz, Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car\u2019s innovative design features, off-road capabilities, and dominant look pushed the boundaries of automotive when it launched, however, its success at the 1983 Paris-Dakar Rally catapulted it to a performance realm, and it wasn\u2019t long before it took the market by storm. Currently boasting an aspirational luxury SUV status, it has remained a brand staple for four decades, transcending generations and climbing the ranks as a fan-favorite of any car enthusiast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, Mercedes-Benz is giving fans the opportunity to experience the G-Class first-hand in all of its glory. Heading back to where it started, the immersive adventure takes place in a 100,000m\u00b2 Experience Center in Graz, Austria \u2014 a UNESCO World Heritage Site \u2014 and features a wide range of activities from receiving a masterclass in off-roading and steep incline climbs, to pushing the handling to the limit on various on-road conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether it\u2019s the G 450d and classic G 500, or the powerful Mercedes-AMG G 63 and the latest all-electric G 580 with EQ technology \u2014 visitors can be in the driver\u2019s seat to test the full fleet of models in the range. The all-rounded experience concludes with an exhibition of the history of the G-Class as well as The Amber Cube highlight \u2013 a 1979 G-Class encased in the world\u2019s largest resin installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rollercoaster
With steep inclines of up to 100% and a gradient of up to 35\u00ba, drivers can feel the stability, power and agility of the G-Class just like a rollercoaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off-Road
Whether deep in mud or navigating trail conditions, experience the G-Class in its natural habitat: off-road with all the bumps and jumps that come with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-Road
Returning on-road, feel the acceleration power of 585 hp as you climb into the Mercedes-AMG G 63. And whether it\u2019s testing the handling on wet concrete or weaving through traffic cones, experience the world-renowned engineering Mercedes-Benz has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
