JOOPITER and CURATED Announce Auction for Michael Jordan’s 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello

JOOPITER and CURATED have officially announced their debut collector-car auction featuring Michael Jordan‘s 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello. The landmark sale marks JOOPITER’s initial entry into the automotive market through a new series of supercar auctions.

Delivered to Michael Jordan in May 1997, chassis 108712 is executed in a Rosso Barchetta finish over tan leather, featuring chrome Speedline wheels, a gated manual transmission, and a front-engined V12. The vehicle directly inspired Tinker Hatfield’s design of the Air Jordan XIV, borrowing elements ranging from the quilted leather cabin to the Jumpman logo set inside a Ferrari-style shield. Following Jordan’s sale of the car in 2002, the vehicle remained out of public view for 24 years before being rediscovered and authenticated by CURATED in 2026.

Offered alongside Jordan’s Game 3 “Last Dance” NBA Finals jersey, the historic automobile comes to market fully documented. The auction represents the first public offering of the chassis since it left Jordan’s personal collection.

The car and jersey will be on public view at 16 Morton Street – Cart Department in New York City from September 15 to 20, 2026, with official bidding open from September 15 to September 30, 2026, via JOOPITER.
