Although Rivian is a relative newcomer in the world of electric vehicles, it has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. The brand was first established in 2009, but it was not until 2021 that Rivian became the first automaker to bring a fully electric pickup truck to the consumer market. Now the company is expanding its fleet with the introduction of its new R2, R3 and R3X models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand has previously tackled full-size SUV\u2019s and pickup trucks. So what stands out about the new additions is that they bring Rivian into the midsize vehicle market. The R2 model is a midsize SUV, while the R3 is a midsize crossover \u2013 both being the perfect companion for performance, city and off-road adventures. Additionally, the models are set to feature two battery sizes with the larger boasting over 300 miles on a single charge and 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds. To produce that power, the vehicles would offer single, dual and tri-motor variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cR2 and R3 are distinctly Rivian in terms of performance, capability, and usability, yet with pricing that makes them accessible to a lot of people,\u201d said Rivian Founder and CEO RJ Scaringe. \u201cOur design and engineering teams are extremely focused on driving innovation into not only the product features but also our approach to manufacturing to achieve dramatically lower costs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The R2 is set to start at $45,000 USD and the R3 will be priced slightly below that figure. As of now, the vehicles are planned to begin hitting the streets in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
