ANA is taking its Pok\u00e9mon partnership across borders, sending the new \u201cPok\u00e9mon Jet Green\u201d special-livery aircraft into scheduled international service beginning September 18. The jet is the second phase of the ANA x Pok\u00e9mon 30th anniversary project, and rather than confine the design to domestic hops, ANA is putting it on overseas routes so the collaboration\u2019s world travels with the plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft carrying the livery is a Boeing 787-9, registration JA923A, and ANA has set it to operate on international routes from September 18 through March 27, 2027. There is a deliberate catch for plane spotters and fans hoping to book a seat: the specific routes shift day to day depending on operations and are not locked in until the day itself, so ANA is not publishing a fixed destination list. The carrier also notes that the assigned aircraft can change at short notice for operational reasons, and that, for aviation-security reasons, crew won\u2019t sign autographs or write messages in log books.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 30th anniversary framing is what ties the effort together. ANA has a long history of flying Pok\u00e9mon-themed jets, a lineage stretching back to the late 1990s that has made the \u201cPok\u00e9mon Jet\u201d one of the most recognizable brand tie-ups in commercial aviation. Positioning the newest entry on international service leans into that legacy at a milestone moment, extending a franchise celebration well beyond Japan\u2019s borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the ground, the initiative extends into gaming. ANA is launching a second Pok\u00e9mon GO collaboration on the same September 18 date, rolling out ANA-designed Pok\u00e9Stops and Gyms, the latter hosting Raid Battles, across 14 airports: Kochi, Matsuyama, Takamatsu, Tokushima, Fukuoka, Saga, Miyazaki, Kumamoto, Kagoshima, Nagasaki, Oita, Ishigaki, Miyako and Naha. At those airports, players can encounter Pok\u00e9mon set against a special location background tied specifically to the Pok\u00e9mon Jet Green collaboration, turning a layover into part of the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
