A 2023 BMW M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, one of only 99 created in a special collaboration with pop artist Jeff Koons, is currently sitting on the Bring A Trailer auction block. This unique vehicle, dubbed \u201cTHE 8 x JEFF KOONS,\u201d showcases a distinctive exterior and interior design crafted by the artist and blends M Performance prowess with avant-garde artistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood, the M850i houses a twin-turbo 4.4L V8 engine coupled with an eight-speed M Sport automatic transmission. Its driving capabilities are enhanced by the inclusion of the Driving Assistance and Driving Assistance Pro packages, along with BMW\u2019s xDrive all-wheel drive system, an M Sport limited-slip differential and the Adaptive M Suspension Pro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car\u2019s exterior features a graphic design by Koons that is said to have required 285 hours per car to apply \u2014 involving eleven different colors and eleven stages of application. The design reflects the vehicle\u2019s contours with geometric lines, while the exploding lines at the rear pay tribute to Koons\u2019 2010 M3 GT2 Art Car that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Emblems of \u201cPOP!\u201d and \u201cvapor thrust\u201d imagery are symbolic of power and speed, capturing the performance essence of the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the interior, the cabin is adorned with heated seats upholstered in color-blocked red and blue leather, complementing a range of modern amenities including Live Cockpit Pro with navigation, head-up display, wireless phone charging and a top-tier Bowers & Wilkins audio system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the car comes with a large-format certificate of authenticity and a letter, both personally signed by Koons and BMW Chairman and CEO Oliver Zipse, adding a personal touch to this rare collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon its release, the vehicle had a sticker price of $350,995 USD. As for the current example up for auction, with only 16 miles on its odometer, it\u2019s sitting with the highest bid of $100,000 USD \u2014 however, there are still two days left on the auction at the time of writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
