At this year\u2019s Japan Mobility Show, Honda Motor Co., Ltd\u2019s Director and President, Toshihiro Mibe, unveiled a variety of new concepts, including a revival of the 90s era Prelude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He shared the \u201cPrelude Concept will take the \u2018joy of driving\u2019 into the full-fledged electrified future. I have introduced some of the mobility products that embody Honda\u2018s dreams, which represent the Honda of today and the future. But we know our customers are expecting one more thing from Honda, and that is sports models.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Classified by Mibe as a \u201cspecialty sports model,\u201d the electrified Prelude concept appears to take inspiration from the automaker\u2019s fourth and fifth-generation Preludes, which were manufactured between 1991 to 2001. Notably, with its classification as a \u201cspecialty sports model\u201d in mind, the fifth-generation Japanese-exclusive Type S Prelude might also have been a significant inspiration for the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHonda has always been committed to creating sporty vehicles. The word \u2018prelude\u2019 means an \u2018introductory or preceding performance.\u2019 This model will become the prelude for our future models which will inherit the \u2018joy of driving\u2019 into the full-fledged electrified future and embody Honda\u2019s unalterable sports mindset,\u201d shared Mibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While technical details on the concept are scarce at the time of writing, Mibe did share that development on the concept is largely underway and that fans can keep their expectations high for the end results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
