As part of its vision for a \u201czero labor home,\u201d LG created an AI robot with two legs connected to wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Capable of roaming one\u2019s home independently, the bot is designed to connect to and control smart appliances in the household and deliver information and reminders, similar to Amazon\u2019s Alexa. The bot uses both voice and facial recognition to identify and execute commands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LG describes the bot, which doesn\u2019t have an official name just yet, as a \u201cmoving smart home hub.\u201d The bot comes packed with Qualcomm\u2019s RB5 robotics chip, cameras, speakers and sensors for gauging temperature, humidity and air quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LG didn\u2019t say if the bot will only be compatible with other LG appliances, or if it\u2019ll connect to any smart appliance. Even for those without smart appliances, however, the bot can act as a pet monitor or security guard, alerting users to unusual activity or simply letting them know if a light was left on or a window opened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur groundbreaking smart home AI agent combines cutting-edge autonomous mobility and AI technologies with advanced communication capabilities and services to help free customers from household chores,\u201d president of LG Electronics Home Appliance &amp; Air Solution Company Lyu Jae-cheol said. \u201cA smart life solution company, LG will continue to help customers experience a smarter, more enjoyable life at home.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ahead of CES 2024, LG has given a first look at some of the new technologies it\u2019s been developing over the past year.
