Hot Wheels, through Mattel Creations, has revealed the third \u201cLap\u201d of its four-part collaboration with artist Daniel Arsham, a project two years in the making that sees original Hot Wheels models in the 1:64 scale reimagined in Arsham\u2019s signature future relic aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration started with Lap One, which featured an eroded version of the artist\u2019s Porsche 930 Turbo and a crystalized version of the Rodger Dodger. This was followed by Lap Two, which saw the release of the \u201cOriginal Sweet 16\u201d Deora II and a replica of Arsham\u2019s personal Porsche 356 Speedster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for Lap Three, it introduces two new vehicles to the collaboration, an eroded and uniquely colored version of the Twin Mill, one of the first-ever \u201cHot Wheels Orginials\u201d designs not based on any real-world car, originally released in 1969. Accompanying the Twin Mill is an adaptation of the 1986 Porsche 930 Arsham rebuilt during his second collaboration with Porsche, featuring livery inspired by a 1980 entrant at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the two cars, a series of posters and a license plate inspired by the award-winning California \u201cSunshine Plate\u201d of the 1980s will be available for purchase starting February 23 via Mattel\u2019s official site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
