Jeep and Ram are pushing back the arrival of the Grand Wagoneer Hybrid and the 1500 REV, respectively, according to a report by Automotive News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Grand Wagoneer Hybrid, which was originally expected to start production in May of this year, is now planned for a November start, six months after its initial target. The delays are even more notable for the Ram, whose arrival was scheduled for the second half of 2025\u2014though that was back when the REV went by the name Ramcharger. A decision to cancel production of its fully electric pickup coincided with a delay of the plug-in hybrid truck to &#8220;sometime in 2026,&#8221; a spokesperson told C\/D last year. The series plug-in hybrid models, more commonly referred to as extended-range electric vehicles, combine a 400-volt battery with a 3.6-liter V-6 and a gas-fed onboard generator. The kicker is that the V-6 doesn\u2019t actually power the wheels; instead, it solely powers the generator that charges the battery as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement to Car and Driver, a Ram spokesperson said that \u201cplans continue to be a 2027 arrival for Ram 1500 REV.\u201d Separately, a Jeep spokesman told C\/D that the brand\u2019s plans are on track for this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Better late than never, as they say.
