Lamborghini has just released details about its latest concept, the Lanzador, which it describes as a 2+2 seat \u201chigh ground clearance Ultra GT.\u201d First teased earlier in the week, the highly-anticipated all-electric concept was officially revealed at Monterey Car Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith this concept, we are ushering in a new car segment, the Ultra GT, which is poised to offer customers a new and unparalleled driving experience, one that\u2019s quintessentially Lamborghini, thanks to groundbreaking technologies,\u201d shared Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the performance front, the vehicle is rooted in Lamborghini\u2019s iconic DNA, as the Lanzador is said to promise top-tier sportiness and drivability through the incorporation of an all-electric drive mechanism featuring a high specific power electric motor on each axle, that provides a consistent all-wheel drive experience. The electric beast boasts over one-megawatt peak power, ensuring dynamic cornering and long ranges, thanks to a new-gen high-performance battery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While many are uncertain about the automotive brand\u2019s departure from naturally aspirated engines, Rouven Mohr, Lamborghini\u2019s Chief Technical Officer, emphasized that the electric transition isn\u2019t a constraint but an opportunity. He expressed that \u201cElectrification allows us to develop more performance and drivability,\u201d and ensured there are no trade-offs in power and pleasure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving dynamics have been upgraded using the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI) control system, which employs numerous sensors to fine-tune driving sensations, this is coupled with Active Aerodynamics to ensure efficient battery use and optimal performance. Other notable systems in place include aerodynamics features like the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system, designed for efficiency and downforce adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for design, the Lanzador clearly indicated the automotive brand\u2019s aspirations to set a futuristic tone, drawing inspiration from spaceships, its exterior boasts clean lines reminiscent of Lamborghini classics such as the Sesto Elemento and Murci\u00e9lago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini, emphasized the design was driven by the \u201cfeel like a pilot\u201d philosophy, combining a 2+2 GT concept with a lifestyle approach. The spacious cabin can accommodate sports gear or luggage, and the rear space is highly adjustable and customizable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car\u2019s interior mirrors a jet cockpit, defined by a lightweight dashboard incorporating the Lamborghini signature Y-shape console \u2014 with the pilot and co-pilot sitting snugly, surrounded by controls for entertainment, climate, and digital functions. This latest concept also sports a new color, a special Azzurro Abissale shade designed specifically for its debut at Monterey Car Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond performance and aesthetics, the Lanzador also represents the brand\u2019s approach to sustainability, utilizing 3D printing, sustainably tanned leather, 100 percent merino wool, regenerated carbon, synthetic fiber from recycled plastic and more. All of these material choices have been carefully selected as part of Lamborghini\u2019s goal for a decarbonized and electrified future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lamborghini Lanzador is set for series production in 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
