Porsche has officially premiered its new Mission X concept which aims to be the fastest and most capable road-legal electric hypercar in the world. The new concept is presented precisely on the 75th anniversary of the car brand. On June 8, 1948, the 356 \u201cNo.1\u201d Roadster became the first automobile bearing the name Porsche to receive its general operating permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Porsche Mission X is a technology beacon for the sports car of the future. It picks up the torch of iconic sports cars of decades past: like the 959, the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder before it, the Mission X provides critical impetus for the evolutionary development of future vehicle concepts,\u201d said Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG in a press release. \u201cDaring to dream and dream cars are two sides of the same coin for us: Porsche has only remained Porsche by constantly changing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Described as a concept study, the Mission X has the relatively compact dimensions of the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder with 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels. Pictured in a special \u201cRocket metallic\u201d paint color, the hypercar features distinct elements including a carbon-weave finish below the beltline, transparent aeroblades on the rear axles, a lightweight glass dome extending above the cockpit, Le Mans-style doors, and distinct headlights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Mission X is currently a concept, Porsche suggests it will go into production in the near future.\u2060 If so, Porsche has visions of it being \u201cthe fastest road-legal car on the N\u00fcrburgring-Nordschleife, with \u201cdownforce values that are well in excess of those delivered by the current 911 GT3 RS\u201d and \u201csignificantly improved charging performance with its 900-volt system architecture and charge roughly twice as quickly as Porsche\u2019s current frontrunner, the Taycan Turbo S.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
