The Volkswagen Golf R is a feisty hot hatch, rivaling the likes of the Mercedes-AMG A35, Audi S3, and Hyundai i30N. Now, VW turns the Golf R up a notch with the 333 Limited Edition, which is more than just its factory-standard \u201cLime Yellow Metallic\u201d paint job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood lies a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 333 PS and 420 Nm of torque, which should be good for 0-62 MPH sprints in just 4.6 seconds, before hitting the increased top speed of 167 MPH. However, the engine has been optimized in the 333 \u2014 now, the turbocharger is preloaded, meaning power is almost instantaneous for a turbo unit, activated by taking one\u2019s foot off the throttle and reapplying pressure to spin it up for maximum boost (and getting some pops and bangs on the lift-off).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hakim Halimi, Head of Product Marketing at Volkswagen R, said: \u201cThe Golf R 333 is the first R model with a specification predefined by us that leaves no customer wishes regarding performance unfulfilled \u2014 thanks to its extensive equipment.\u201d As such, the car comes with R-Performance Torque Vectoring with Vehicle Dynamics Manager, allowing for better power distribution between all four wheels, as well as a mode designed for the N\u00fcrburgring race track, and a titanium-tipped Akrapovi\u010d exhaust system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for styling, you\u2019ll notice that paint job alongside black 19-inch \u201cEstoril\u201d rims, while inside you\u2019ll find a plaque denoting the car\u2019s limited run of 333 editions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car retails for \u20ac76,410 EUR (approx. $82,000 USD) and more information can be obtained from your nearest Volkswagen retailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
