Ushering in two decades since the R32, Volkswagen has unveiled the Golf R \u201c20 Years\u201d edition, the first Golf vehicle to boast the \u201cR\u201d racing badge. Packed with R-style equipment, the car comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 328 hp (245 kW), a jump compared to the output of the standard Golf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engine, which drives all four wheels, has been revamped with turbocharger preloading, enabling the power to develop faster when accelerating. According to Volkswagen, this special model sprints from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 kph) in only 4.6 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of styling, the Golf R \u201c20 Years\u201d features a distinct \u201c20\u201d badge, as well as the \u201cR\u201d marker. Blue design accents add a pop of brightness, and buyers can opt for wheel rims in either blue or black depending on the vehicle\u2019s exterior color. This model is outfitted with a roof spoiler and VW\u2019s Estoril wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Golf R \u201c20 Years\u201d also contains new features in its interior. Decorative genuine carbon trims add to its highlight the visual quality of the performance vehicle, while its sport seats are rigged out in Nappa leather and embroidered with blue \u201cR\u201d logos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VW says the first Golf R \u201c20 Years\u201d editions will arrive in showrooms by the middle of 2022, meaning soon, and is expected to run until sometime in mid-2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
