Mercedes-Benz has offered a first look at its upcoming Vision AMG performance EV, offering its customers and fans a glimpse of Mercedes-AMG\u2018s all-electric future. The four-door coupe is defined by a long wheelbase and fluid lines featuring a sharply chiseled shark nose, star-shaped headlamps, powerful shoulders, an AMG-specific grille with illuminated bars, and a distinctive active spoiler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car\u2019s epic proportions rest on 22-inch wheels and are powered by an innovative Axial Flux Motor developed by Mercedes-Benz-owned subsidiary YASA. Equipped with a new silicon-anode battery developed in collaboration with battery material materials company Sila Nanotechnologies, Mercedes estimates its cars will offer 20 to 40 percent more charge capacity than the traditional lithium-ion found in today\u2019s electric cars. All drivetrain components are made entirely from scratch, falling under the automaker\u2019s new dedicated AMG.EA platform that\u2019s currently under development for Mercedes\u2019 new all-electric performance models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vision AMG\u2019s racing livery and visual details are a direct reference to the successful Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team as evident through its silver paintwork, Petronas green accents, exposed carbon fiber, and star patterns across the shoulders and rear fenders. Designed to be a functional sports car, the Vision AMG will also offer plenty of space for four with an intelligently designed interior floor,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look for the Vision AMG to launch in 2025 alongside three other EV platforms as part of Mercedes\u2019 goal to switch to an all-electric lineup by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
