If you\u2019ve been lusting after the Ford Bronco Raptor\u2019s twin-turbo V-6 but can only afford one of the more mainstream models, well, we\u2019re about to deliver some good news. For the 2027 model year, Ford is spreading the six-cylinder love by not only offering it on the new highfalutin Filson Edition, but also on the Outer Banks, Badlands, and Heritage Edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford previously announced that the Filsonified Bronco would get the EcoBoost 3.0-liter V-6, but it didn\u2019t share power outputs or mention that it would be available on other models\u2014until now. Of course, the Bronco Raptor\u2019s engine remains special because it makes 418 horsepower versus the detuned version\u2019s 380 ponies. However, every example produces the same 440 pound-feet of torque. Standard all-wheel drive is paired with Ford\u2019s ubiquitous 10-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whether or not you\u2019re springing for the new engine option (Ford hasn\u2019t yet said how much it will cost), there are also newly available features that should please people looking at the more affordable half of the Bronco lineup. The Big Bend trim is one step up from the base model\u2014at least for the \u201826 model year\u2014and its Mid package now includes a heated steering wheel. Plus, Neptune Blue replaces Velocity Blue as a new paint color, and it looks like Ford has redesigned its keypad entry system, which moves from a clunky piece on the driver\u2019s door to a more nicely integrated row of buttons on the B-pillar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Broncos in Outer Banks guise that are optioned with the Lux package trade the previously standard leather seats for what Ford calls a \u201cpremium\u201d vinyl material. The Badlands trim can now be had with marine-grade vinyl upholstery (pictured above), and for the first time, Ford says it\u2019s offering these seats with power adjustments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we\u2019re not yet sure how much the 2027 Ford Bronco lineup will cost, those details should be announced in the coming weeks, and we\u2019ll update this story when they come in. Ford has said that the new RTR edition will start at $50,790, but that\u2019s before the mandatory destination fee, so we expect the actual starting price will be right around $53K.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
