Only 547 Buick GNXs were ever made, and now a pristine 1987 example with just 865 miles has landed on Bring a Trailer. It\u2019s one of the most recognizable American muscle cars of all time, standing against other U.S. giants such as the Mustang as a formidable machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Naturally, the car comes in black \u2014 marking this as the Grand National Experimental that was developed in association with McLaren Performance Technologies\/ASC to celebrate the end of the vehicle\u2019s production run. Heat-extracting fender vents, composite wheel arch flares, a three-piece rear spoiler, and GNX badging all add to the car\u2019s specific design treatment that makes this stand out as the GNX, while 16\u201d cross-lace rims further accentuate this car\u2019s provenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood is a modified 3.8-liter V6 that\u2019s paired with a Garrett T3 turbocharger to produce 276 HP and 360 lb-ft of torque. While these figures are nowhere near today\u2019s muscle car stats, it was enough to send the RWD model to 62 MPH in 4.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 124 MPH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
